Family History Starter- £55

Take your first steps into the past and discover your family history. If you’re unsure how to begin, or too busy to even start, this package will give you a push in the right direction. It could also be a unique gift.

You will find out about the history of one line of your family tree from the first half of the 20th Century back to the 1840s. This will include census returns* from 1911 back to 1841, searches of the birth, marriage and death index and 2 GRO Certificates (worth £9.25 each). You will receive a Family History Research Report and recommendations for further research.

The way we worked - Poole Museum May 2011 to .............

This exhibition is part of a community project called “Our Working Lives” focusing on how work has changed from the mid-20th to the 21st century. It aims to explore and celebrate personal histories, traditions, memories and values and to encourage closer relationships between generations.
