Custom House Raid- Smugglers captured, 1747
Extract from the Salisbury Journal 26th October 1747. A number of the gang of smugglers who broke into the Custom House at Poole have been captured at Dalton by a party of Dragoons.
(The 'gang of smugglers' are known as the Hawkhurst Gang- KH)
