Prisoners of War in Spain, 1740

Transcription of extract from the Salisbury Journal 11th March 1740 reads:
"By a private letter from one of our poor countrymen, prisoner in Spain, to his father at Pool, we are informed, that all the English are threatened with being starved in a prison if they will not enter into the Spanish service."
