Paddle steamer "Empress" at Weymouth. Built 1879 for Coyens & Co in Weymouth, 173 tons. Strengthened bows for running aground at Lulworth Cove (to load/unload passengers). Berthed at Poole on Bournemouth to Cherbourg run.
