Councillor Willie John Stickland. Outstanding example of selfmade man. First employed by Messrs. T. Parrott and Son making boiled sweets. In 1907 he set up his own wholesale house. 1929 he joined the council. 1933-34 he was Sherriff. Taken from the Poole and Parkstone Standard 2nd April 1936.
