Transcription of extract from Salisbury Journal 27th October 1746 reads: "Poole. October 21st. Thursday last was married Mr George Pope, Commander of a ship in the Merchants Service, to Miss Molly Mackrell of Parkston, a young gentlewoman more valuable on the account of her personal merit than her considerable fortune."
